The Olympus M.Zuiko Digital ED 150-400mm f/4.5 TC1.25X IS PRO was released in 2021 as the flagship super-telephoto pro zoom for Micro Four Thirds, covering 300-800mm full-frame equivalent — or 375-1000mm with the integrated 1.25× teleconverter engaged. Twenty-eight elements in 18 groups. Nine aperture blades. 72mm filter thread. At 1,875g. 1.3m MFD.
Twenty-eight elements in 18 groups (including Super High Refractive elements; water-repellent coatings). Nine aperture blades. The 72mm filter thread. At 1,875g the lens is substantial but competitive with full-frame 400-500mm equivalents. Minimum focus distance of 1.3m. 5-stop IS lens-only; 8-stop Sync IS with compatible OM System bodies via coordinated in-body IBIS. Integrated 1.25× TC lever: 150-400mm f/4.5 becomes 187.5-500mm f/5.6 with no measurable AF speed penalty. MFT image circle (300-800mm / 375-1000mm with TC).
The integrated 1.25× TC is the defining feature: unlike external teleconverters that require lens removal and reduce AF speed, the built-in TC switches via a body-side lever while mounted, maintaining full AF performance. The 300-800mm reach (up to 1000mm with TC) in a 1,875g, 72mm-filter package is a principal advantage of the MFT system for wildlife and aviation photography where reach-to-weight ratio matters.
On the used market the Olympus M.Zuiko Digital ED 150-400mm f/4.5 TC1.25X IS PRO is available at premium MFT super-telephoto pricing. Condition checks: IS operation (normal and Sync IS modes), TC lever engagement, 72mm front element for marks, zoom ring smoothness. 8-stop Sync IS requires compatible OM System body. Compatible with all Micro Four Thirds bodies.
