Olympus's original MFT super-telephoto — 150-600mm equiv, predecessor to the Mark II.
The Olympus M.Zuiko Digital ED 75-300mm f/4.8-6.7 is the original MFT super-telephoto zoom, providing 150-600mm equivalent. The Mark I predated the slightly improved Mark II. Affordable extreme reach thanks to the MFT 2x crop factor.
Optically basic — acceptable centre sharpness but soft at 300mm. The slow f/6.7 at 300mm requires good light. No image stabilisation — relies on body IBIS. Adequate for casual wildlife observation on a tight budget.
Micro Four Thirds mount with 58mm filter thread. Approximately 423g — incredibly light for 600mm equiv. No weather sealing. Minimum focus distance 90cm at 75mm. Compact design.
Available used very cheaply. The Mark II improved coatings and AF. The Panasonic 100-300mm has OIS. A budget way to get extreme telephoto reach on MFT — optical quality is basic but the reach is genuine.
