Olympus PRO fisheye for MFT — same as OM System ID 573, f/1.8 with weather sealing.
The Olympus M.Zuiko Digital ED 8mm f/1.8 Fisheye PRO is the Olympus-branded version of the M.Zuiko 8mm f/1.8 PRO Fisheye — the same optical product later rebranded as OM System following Olympus Imaging's 2021 rebrand to OM Digital Solutions. All specifications are identical. 17 elements in 15 groups. No front filter thread. 180° diagonal fisheye field of view. IP53 dust- and splash-proof sealing. 315g. MSC AF motor.
The optical design uses 17 elements in 15 groups including Super ED, aspherical, and HR elements. Seven circular aperture blades. No front filter thread — bulbous fisheye front with built-in petal hood. At 315g the lens is lightweight. Minimum focus distance of 0.12m. MSC AF motor. IP53 dust- and splash-proof; freezeproof to -10°C. ZERO Coating. f/1.8 maximum aperture. 180° diagonal fisheye field of view.
The 8mm f/1.8 PRO Fisheye is a Micro Four Thirds-native fisheye: at f/1.8 it provides astrophotography capability and low-light fisheye shooting that f/2.8 fisheye alternatives cannot match. The 0.12m MFD enables extreme close-wide environmental fisheye compositions. IP53 PRO sealing enables outdoor use in light rain with compatible weather-sealed MFT bodies. The Olympus-branded SKU and the OM System-branded SKU are optically identical.
On the used market the Olympus M.Zuiko 8mm f/1.8 PRO Fisheye is available at mid-range MFT pro prime pricing. Condition checks: MSC AF motor response, PRO sealing at barrel seams, front element — no filter protection on the bulbous front. The OM System branding indicates later production but same optics. Compatible with all Micro Four Thirds bodies from Panasonic, Olympus, and OM System.
