Olympus OM-mount film SLR from 1986 with Power Focus motorised focusing — entry-level OM body offering autofocus-style convenience without true AF.

The Olympus OM-101 Power Focus (1988) is the final Olympus OM-series SLR body — a camera that replaced manual focus with a unique 'Power Focus' system using an on-body joystick to drive motor-focus in Olympus OM AF lenses. It was not a conventional phase-detect AF camera; the photographer drives focus manually via a lever rather than letting the camera focus automatically.

The OM-101's Power Focus system was an unconventional late-1980s compromise between manual and autofocus — the photographer controls focus speed and direction via a lever, but the motor executes the movement. It requires Olympus AF or Power Focus compatible OM lenses. The system is a historical curiosity: it was not well received and represents the end of the OM system. All OM manual lenses are also compatible in stop-down mode.

Test the Power Focus joystick mechanism (the defining and most failure-prone system). Verify with an Olympus AF or Power Focus OM lens. Test all exposure modes. Check light seals. Test pop-up flash. Note: standard manual-focus OM lenses work but require stop-down metering.
