Olympus's popular auto-exposure film SLR — compact OM-system camera with aperture-priority auto.
The Olympus OM-10 was released in 1979 as the entry-level model in the Olympus OM system, providing aperture-priority automatic exposure. Manual exposure requires the optional Manual Adapter accessory — it is not a built-in mode. Shutter range 2s to 1/1000, Bulb. Two LR44 or SR44 button batteries. At approximately 430-450g.
35mm SLR, Olympus OM mount. Exposure modes: Aperture-priority AE (built-in); Manual mode requires the optional Manual Adapter (shoe-mounted accessory). Shutter: 2s to 1/1000 (electronic, Ap-priority), Bulb. Center-weighted metering. ±2EV exposure compensation. Two LR44 or SR44 button batteries. Approximately 430-450g. 35mm film format.
The OM-10 provides aperture-priority as its sole built-in exposure mode: the photographer sets the aperture and the camera selects the shutter speed. Manual exposure requires the optional Manual Adapter, a shoe-mounted accessory that adds a manually-set shutter speed dial. This design kept the body compact and affordable while retaining manual capability via accessory for users who need it.
On the used market the Olympus OM-10 is affordable as a vintage OM-system aperture-priority SLR. Condition checks: aperture-priority accuracy, mirror/shutter foam condition, LR44/SR44 battery function. Note: manual exposure requires the optional Manual Adapter accessory (not always included). Compatible with all Olympus OM-mount lenses.
