Olympus's mid-range PEN — the E-PL6 with in-body IS and MFT compatibility.
The Olympus PEN E-PL6 is a mid-range Micro Four Thirds camera from 2013 featuring a 16MP Live MOS sensor with in-body 3-axis stabilisation. Part of the PEN Lite series, it provides the PEN design aesthetic with good image quality and the full MFT lens ecosystem. A capable compact mirrorless for its era.
Image quality from the 16MP sensor is good with Olympus colour science. 3-axis in-body stabilisation works with all MFT lenses. Fast contrast-detect AF. Art filters for creative JPEG effects. Full HD video. The 3-inch tilting touchscreen provides flexible composition. No built-in viewfinder — optional VF-4 EVF attaches via hot shoe.
Micro Four Thirds mount. Weight is approximately 279 grams body only — compact. Build quality is decent with the PEN design. Touchscreen. WiFi for smartphone sharing. No built-in flash — accessory flash included. The PEN E-PL series occupies the middle of the PEN range between the basic E-PM and premium E-P.
Very affordable on the used market. Check sensor and touchscreen. Outdated but functional for casual MFT photography. The in-body IS and MFT lens compatibility remain genuinely useful. Best at very low prices. Modern MFT cameras are dramatically more capable but the E-PL6 provides a budget entry to the ecosystem.
