Panasonic's compact cinema camera — Super 35 5.7K with EF mount and dual native ISO.
The Panasonic AU-EVA1 was released in 2017 as a compact Super 35mm cinema camera for Canon EF-mount, featuring a proprietary 5.7K (5,720×3,016) sensor for 5.7K RAW output via HDMI. 4K/60fps 10-bit 4:2:2 internal. Super 35mm CMOS. At 1.2kg body only. Canon EF mount.
Super 35mm CMOS (24.6×13.0mm, ~17MP). 5.7K RAW via HDMI external; 4K UHD/59.94fps internal (10-bit 4:2:2 MXF); 2K/Full HD up to 120fps; 240fps with crop. 10-bit 4:2:0 V-Log L internal. 1.2kg body only. Canon EF mount.
The 5.7K sensor is an unusual custom resolution: the Super 35mm readout of 5.7K provides additional data for internal 4K processing (oversampled 4K from 5.7K), improving 4K detail and reducing moiré versus a native 4K readout. The EVA1 was Panasonic's compact VariCam-heritage cinema body, sharing V-Log with the VariCam line for LUT compatibility in multi-camera shoots.
On the used market the Panasonic AU-EVA1 is affordable as a compact Super 35mm EF cinema camera. Condition checks: 4K recording function, V-Log L internal recording, EF mount contacts, battery/power system. Compatible with Canon EF and EF-S lenses (Super 35mm crop applies).
