Panasonic's 60x superzoom bridge — 20-1200mm equiv with 1/2.3-inch sensor and iA mode.
The Panasonic Lumix FZ72 (FZ70 in some markets) launched in 2013 as one of the first bridge cameras to offer a 60x optical zoom, covering an extraordinary 20-1200mm equivalent range — wider at 20mm than most competitors at the time.
Uses a 16.1MP 1/2.3-inch MOS sensor. Image quality is typical for small-sensor bridge cameras — fine in good light, noisy in low light. The 20mm wide end is wider than most bridge cameras. Power O.I.S. stabilisation. 1080p Full HD video.
Built-in EVF plus 3-inch fixed LCD. 20-1200mm f/2.8-5.9 zoom — the 20mm wide end was unusual. WiFi not included. 405g. iA intelligent auto mode. Manual exposure controls. USB charging.
Available used very cheaply. The 20mm wide end was the differentiating feature. Later models improved to 4K video. The 1/2.3-inch sensor limits quality. For casual users wanting extreme zoom range with wider-than-usual wide end. Check zoom mechanism.
