Panasonic bridge camera with 60x zoom, 4K video, and Post Focus — a versatile budget superzoom.
The Panasonic Lumix FZ82 (FZ80 in North America) launched in 2017 as a budget bridge camera offering 60x optical zoom from 20-1200mm equivalent. It was one of the first bridge cameras to offer 4K video recording at this price point.
Uses an 18.1MP 1/2.3-inch MOS sensor. Image quality is acceptable in good light but noisy in low light as with all small-sensor bridge cameras. 4K Photo mode allows frame extraction from 4K video. Post Focus feature enables focus selection after capture.
Built-in EVF plus 3-inch touchscreen LCD. 4K 30p video. WiFi connectivity. 60x zoom with Power O.I.S. stabilisation. 616g including battery. Flash included. Macro mode focuses to 1cm. USB charging supported.
Common used at budget prices. Check zoom mechanism for smooth operation. A solid bridge camera for its era. The FZ82D update is minimal. For better image quality, consider a used interchangeable-lens camera with a telephoto zoom instead.
