Panasonic's weather-sealed rangefinder MFT camera — 20.3MP with 4K video, Dual I.S., and robust build.
The Panasonic Lumix GX8 launched in 2015 as Panasonic's most capable rangefinder-style MFT camera. It features a 20.3MP Live MOS sensor — the highest resolution in MFT at the time — with weather sealing and Dual I.S. stabilisation.
Image quality is good for MFT — the 20.3MP sensor was class-leading. Dual I.S. combines lens and body stabilisation for enhanced correction. 4K 30p video. DFD contrast-detect AF with 49 areas. 10fps electronic or 8fps mechanical burst.
Weather-sealed magnesium alloy body at 487g. Tilting OLED EVF — unique for adjustable viewing angle. 3-inch vari-angle touchscreen. WiFi and Bluetooth. Dual SD card slots. 4K Photo mode. USB charging. Hot shoe.
Available used at budget to mid-range prices. The weather sealing and tilting EVF are unique features. The GX9 successor dropped weather sealing but added smaller body. For outdoor and travel photographers who want a robust MFT body with rangefinder styling.
