Panasonic's pocket travel zoom with 20x zoom, GPS, and touchscreen — 24-480mm equiv compact.
The Panasonic Lumix TZ30 (ZS20 in some markets) launched in 2012 as a pocket travel compact with 20x optical zoom covering 24-480mm equivalent. It featured GPS and a 3-inch touchscreen in a compact design for travellers.
Uses a 14.1MP 1/2.33-inch MOS sensor. Image quality is typical of small-sensor travel compacts — adequate in good light. 20x zoom provides useful range. Power O.I.S. stabilisation. 1080i Full HD video. GPS for geotagging.
3-inch touchscreen LCD — no viewfinder. GPS built in. WiFi not included. 24-480mm f/3.3-6.4 Leica-branded zoom. 206g — genuinely pocket-sized. iA intelligent auto. USB charging.
Available used very cheaply. The 1/2.33-inch sensor and 1080i video feel very dated. Later TZ models added WiFi, EVF, and 1-inch sensors. Only useful at throwaway prices. For casual travel where maximum zoom in minimum size matters.
