Panasonic's pocket travel zoom — 30x with EVF, touchscreen, and 4K selfie mode in a shirt pocket.
The Panasonic Lumix TZ99 (ZS80 in some markets) launched in 2019 as Panasonic's pocket travel compact with 30x optical zoom covering 24-720mm equivalent. It added 4K selfie mode and improved touchscreen over the TZ90 predecessor.
Uses a 20.3MP 1/2.3-inch MOS sensor — image quality is typical for small-sensor travel compacts. The 30x zoom provides extreme reach. 4K 30p video with 4K Photo mode. Post Focus function. Touch AF and shutter.
Built-in pop-up EVF plus 3-inch tilting touchscreen. 24-720mm f/3.3-6.4 Leica-branded zoom. WiFi and Bluetooth. 282g — genuinely pocket-sized. USB charging. RAW shooting on some modes. 5-axis Hybrid O.I.S.
Available used at budget prices. The TZ200 with 1-inch sensor is significantly better in image quality. The TZ99 prioritises zoom range and price over sensor quality. For casual travellers wanting maximum zoom in minimum size at minimum cost.
