Pentax's budget weather-resistant APS-C telephoto — same as ID 1125, WR version with ED glass.
The Pentax DA 50-200mm f/4-5.6 ED WR is a budget telephoto zoom for Pentax APS-C with weather-resistant construction and ED glass. Covering 75-300mm equivalent, it provides basic telephoto reach with Pentax's signature weather resistance.
Optically basic — acceptable centre sharpness with ED glass for chromatic aberration control. The WR weather resistance is a genuine advantage for outdoor shooting. Body-driven screw AF. In-body SR compensates for lack of lens stabilisation.
Pentax K mount with 49mm or 52mm filter thread depending on version. Lightweight. Weather-resistant WR sealing. ED glass. APS-C coverage. Body-driven AF.
Available used very cheaply. The HD 55-300mm PLM WR is much better. The WR sealing at this price is a Pentax advantage. Functionally similar to ID 1125 if that exists as a separate listing. Check for smooth zoom operation.
