Pentax's weather-sealed APS-C — K-70 successor with improved processing and outdoor-ready build.
The Pentax KF was released approximately 2022 as an updated Pentax APS-C DSLR based on the K-70 platform, adding an articulating vari-angle LCD screen — the primary hardware differentiation from the K-70. Weather-sealed construction with 88 sealing points. Pentax K mount.
24.2MP APS-C CMOS sensor. Articulating vari-angle LCD (3-inch, 921k dots). 88 weather-sealing points (dust and water resistant). In-body shake reduction (SR II, approximately 4 stops). 6fps continuous shooting. ISO 100-102400. Pentax K mount.
The vari-angle LCD is the KF's primary upgrade over the K-70: it enables live view compositing from above (overhead shots) and below (ground-level) without the camera at eye level. The K-70 has a fixed tilting LCD; the KF's fully articulating screen provides greater flexibility for video and macro work. The 88-point weather sealing is the same as the K-70 and equivalent to Pentax's outdoor-oriented APS-C DSLRs.
On the used market the Pentax KF is an articulating-screen weather-sealed APS-C DSLR for Pentax K-mount lenses. Condition checks: articulating LCD hinge durability, weather-sealing integrity (inspect seals around doors and buttons), shutter actuation count, SR II IBIS engagement. Compatible with all Pentax K-mount lenses.
