The Pentax MZ-5N was released approximately 1997 as an ultra-lightweight autofocus 35mm film SLR for Pentax K-mount. At approximately 200g body — among the lightest AF 35mm SLRs produced. Multiple AE modes. AF with compatible lenses.

The MZ-5N achieves 200g body weight through extensive use of polycarbonate and engineering minimisation: for its size, the MZ-5N is a capable AF SLR. The Pentax K-mount provides compatibility with the full range of Pentax K-mount AF lenses as well as older manual-focus K-mount lenses. The ultra-light body made it popular for travel and street photography.
