Pentax's WR APS-C telephoto — same as IDs 1125/1320, WR weather-resistant version.
The Pentax SMC DA 50-200mm f/4-5.6 ED WR is Pentax's weather-resistant budget telephoto zoom for APS-C DSLRs. This appears to be the same lens as IDs 1125 and 1320 — the WR weather-resistant version with ED glass covering 75-300mm equivalent.
Optically basic but functional — acceptable centre sharpness with ED glass providing chromatic aberration control at the long end. The WR weather-resistant construction is unusual at budget telephoto pricing and represents a genuine Pentax advantage for outdoor photography.
Pentax K mount with 52mm filter thread at approximately 285g — incredibly lightweight for the telephoto range covered. Weather-resistant WR sealing protects against moisture and dust. Body-driven screw AF with speed dependent on camera body. In-body SR compensates for lack of lens stabilisation.
Available used very cheaply — essentially a budget throwaway telephoto that provides genuine weather protection. The HD DA 55-300mm f/4-5.8 ED WR PLM version offers dramatically better AF motor and improved optics. Check against IDs 1125 and 1320 for duplicate canonical name entries.
