Petri's shutter-priority auto SLR — the FT EE, TTL metering, Petri mount, 1969.
The Petri FT EE was a 35mm film SLR made from 1969 as an automatic-exposure development of Petri's FT. It used the Petri breech-lock bayonet and added shutter-priority automatic exposure, marking Petri's move toward automation in its budget SLR line.
It is a single-lens-reflex camera for 35mm film on the Petri mount. The FT EE offered shutter-priority automatic exposure alongside manual, with TTL metering and a focal-plane shutter. The automatic mode sets the aperture using battery power, so the meter and auto exposure depend on a working cell.
It suits users who want automatic exposure in an inexpensive vintage SLR and are comfortable with the limited Petri lens range. The shutter-priority auto makes it convenient for general and travel shooting, though it is a budget body rather than a high-end one.
On the used market the FT EE is cheap but Petri lenses are scarce and the automation adds a point of failure. Check the foam seals and mirror-damper foam, confirm the shutter fires and the auto exposure responds, and test the meter, which was built for a mercury cell. Inspect advance, rewind and screen, and note the electronics make it more battery-dependent while Petri repair support is very limited.
