Polaroid's premium Spectra camera — the Image Elite with improved features.
The Polaroid Image Elite is the premium version of the Polaroid Image/Spectra system — improved features over the standard Image camera. The Elite adds features like exposure compensation, self-timer, and improved optics. Uses the same Spectra/Image film format. The premium positioning within the now-discontinued Spectra system.
Improved optics over the standard Image camera — the Elite designation adds exposure compensation and other features. Same Spectra/Image film format — wider than 600. Sonar autofocus. The Elite was the finest consumer Spectra camera Polaroid produced. Same film discontinuation issue as the standard Image.
Uses Spectra/Image film — discontinued. Premium features within the Spectra system. Weight varies. Build quality is the best in the Spectra range. The premium features are wasted on the discontinued film format. Some expired Spectra film stock exists but results are unpredictable.
The finest Spectra camera — but film is discontinued. Very cheap despite premium positioning. Not recommended for regular use due to film unavailability. For collectors who want the best Spectra camera. The premium features cannot be utilised without available film.
