Underneath it is the familiar GR III: 24MP APS-C sensor, fixed 28mm-equivalent f/2.8 GR lens, sensor-shift IS, snap focus, and the pocketable magnesium shell.

Its significance is Ricoh productising a look: the HDF became the sought-after variant among street shooters chasing the diffused rendering without screw-on filters, and supply stayed short of demand.

Used prices carry a premium over the standard GR III; verify the HDF switch operates and check the usual GR III points — dust on the sensor from the collapsing lens, battery wear, and grip condition.
