The Rollei SL35 E (1979) is a manual-exposure 35mm SLR from Rollei using the Rollei QBM (Quick Bayonet Mount) — Rollei's proprietary bayonet that enabled open-aperture metering with Rollei-Zeiss Tessar, Planar, and Distagon lenses. The SL35 series was Rollei's professional SLR line competing with Nikon and Canon in the late 1970s.

35mm SLR, Rollei QBM (Quick Bayonet Mount), open-aperture TTL metering with QBM lenses, aperture-priority AE, mechanical shutter (1–1/1000s), solid metal construction.

The Rollei SL35 E's QBM system accepted Rollei-branded Carl Zeiss lenses (Tessar, Planar, Distagon, Sonnar) as well as Rollei-branded Schneider lenses — among the finest 35mm SLR glass of the era. The QBM system is not compatible with any current camera systems without adapters. Rollei SL35 bodies with Zeiss QBM lenses represent premium vintage optical quality for adapted use.
