The Samsung ES74 is a slim point-and-shoot from Samsung's budget ES line of compact cameras, sold in the early 2010s as an inexpensive everyday camera for casual snapshots and family photography.
It features a 12.2-megapixel CCD sensor of about 1/2.33 inch, a 5x optical zoom lens, a 2.7-inch LCD, automatic scene modes, and 720p HD movie recording, storing images on SD/SDHC cards and running on a small rechargeable lithium-ion battery pack.
Positioned above the more basic ES71 in the same range, the ES74 adds HD video capture and a longer zoom, though its plastic build and simple menu system mark it as a mass-market model rather than an enthusiast tool for serious photographers.
Secondhand examples sell for very little. Check that the zoom lens extends and retracts cleanly, confirm the battery still holds charge, and look for scratches or dead pixels on the small LCD before purchase.
