Samsung Slim Zoom 1150 — 1993 35mm film compact, also sold as the Fuzzy Zoom 1150
The Samsung Slim Zoom 1150, also known as the Fuzzy Zoom 1150, was a 35mm film compact camera from Samsung's point-and-shoot range of the early 1990s. It dates to around 1993, a time when Samsung was one of several Asian manufacturers competing with Japanese brands in the autofocus compact camera market.
As a 35mm film compact, it takes standard 135 cassette film rather than a digital sensor. It has a motorised zoom lens, autofocus, automatic exposure and film winding, and a built-in flash, features typical of mid-range zoom compacts sold through camera shops in the early 1990s.
Cameras of this generation offered convenience over control, with autofocus and autoexposure handling the technical decisions and the photographer simply framing and shooting. Build quality is largely plastic, keeping weight low but making the body more vulnerable to wear over three decades of use.
These now circulate mainly among film camera enthusiasts and collectors rather than as everyday shooters. Buyers should check the battery compartment for leakage corrosion, test that the zoom motor and shutter fire correctly, and confirm the film door seals and hinge are intact.
