Samyang's tiny AF 24mm f/2.8 for Sony FE — budget wide-angle prime weighing just 93g.
The Samyang AF 24mm f/2.8 FE launched in 2018 as part of Samyang's Tiny Series of ultra-compact autofocus primes for Sony full-frame E-mount. At just 93g, it is one of the lightest full-frame wide-angle lenses ever made.
Optically adequate — sharp in the centre from f/4 with softer corners that improve by f/5.6. Not as sharp as the Sony or Tamron 24mm alternatives but acceptable for the price and size. Autofocus is stepping motor driven — quiet but not the fastest.
Sony FE mount with 49mm filter thread. Just 93g and 37mm long — almost pancake dimensions. No weather sealing. Minimum focus distance 24cm. 7 aperture blades. Also sold as Rokinon AF 24mm f/2.8 FE in some markets.
Available used very cheaply. The Tamron 24mm f/2.8 Di III OSD M1:2 is optically superior with macro capability but larger. Best suited to photographers who prioritise extreme portability over optical perfection. A fun walkaround wide-angle for Sony full-frame.
