The Samyang AF 35-150mm f/2-2.8 launched in 2023 as one of the most innovative zooms for Sony FE — covering 35-150mm at f/2-2.8. Starting at f/2 at 35mm and reaching f/2.8 at 150mm, it replaces multiple fast primes with one zoom.

Optically good — sharp throughout with the fast variable aperture providing more speed than any comparable zoom. The f/2 at 35mm and f/2.8 at 150mm create significant subject separation at every focal length. Stepping motor AF. Eye-detect compatible.

Sony FE mount with 82mm filter thread. Approximately 1196g — heavy but expected for the specification. No weather sealing. Minimum focus distance 30cm at 35mm. 9 rounded aperture blades. Also sold as Rokinon.
