The Super-Angulon 65mm f/5.6 is a wide-angle staple of Schneider-Kreuznach's large-format Super-Angulon line, positioned between the extreme-wide 47mm and more moderate wide options for 4x5in view camera work, and is the faster, larger-coverage version of this focal length.

It follows the series' symmetrical Biogon-derived construction, built as a barrel lens for mounting in a Copal shutter and fitted via a lens board rather than a bayonet. Coverage extends past 100 degrees, giving generous movements for architectural and product photography on 4x5in film.

Compared with the slower 65mm f/8 version in the same range, the f/5.6 design gives a brighter ground-glass focusing image and a larger image circle, at the cost of extra size, weight, and a bigger front filter thread.
