Introduced in 1958, the Super-Angulon 90mm f/8 was Schneider-Kreuznach's wide-angle workhorse for 4x5 inch view cameras, replacing the older Angulon with a symmetrical design offering wider coverage and better correction for architectural movements.

It uses a symmetrical wide-angle construction of roughly eight elements in four groups, multi-coated on later production, fitted in a compact Copal 0 shutter. Image circle is around 216mm at f/22, enough for meaningful rise and shift on 4x5 film.

Being a true wide-angle for the format (roughly 64 degrees on 4x5), it renders with the deep depth of field and mild edge falloff typical of symmetrical designs, and rewards small apertures for sharp, distortion-controlled architectural work.
