Eleven rounded aperture blades. The bulbous front element prevents conventional filter use — a rear filter holder is provided for gel filters. At 795g and no front filter thread it is the Art-series ultra-wide standard zoom for Sony FE. A linear AF motor provides fast, quiet AF.

The optical design uses 18 elements in 13 groups. Eleven rounded aperture blades. No front filter thread — the bulbous front element prevents standard filter attachment; rear gel filter slot provided. At 795g the lens is moderate.
