Sigma's older APS-C superzoom — 27-187.5mm equiv without stabilisation, a basic all-in-one.
The Sigma 18-125mm f/3.5-5.6 DC is an older APS-C superzoom covering approximately 27-187.5mm equivalent, providing a basic all-in-one zoom range without stabilisation. It predates the OS (stabilised) versions.
Optically basic — acceptable centre sharpness at mid-focal lengths. No image stabilisation. AF is adequate but not fast. The 18-125mm range provides more reach than kit zooms without the extreme compromise of 18-200mm+ superzooms. DC designation — APS-C only.
Available for multiple APS-C DSLR mounts. 62mm filter thread. Approximately 385g — lightweight. No weather sealing. Minimum focus distance approximately 50cm. Plastic construction.
Available used very cheaply. The OS versions that followed are much more practical. The range provides modest improvement over 18-55mm kits. Only worth considering at throwaway prices. Check for smooth zoom operation.
