The Sigma 18-200mm f/3.5-6.3 DC OS HSM II is the Mark II update of Sigma's popular APS-C superzoom, improving the AF motor and OS over the original. It covers 27-300mm equivalent with stabilisation for one-lens travel convenience.
Optically acceptable for a superzoom — OS provides approximately 4 stops. HSM motor improved over the original. The 27-300mm equivalent range covers standard through telephoto. DC — APS-C coverage only. Good for casual travel.
Available for Canon EF-S, Nikon F, and other mounts. 62mm filter thread. Approximately 490g. No weather sealing. OS stabilisation. HSM II motor — improved over Mark I. APS-C coverage.
Available used very cheaply. The Contemporary version (ID 1417) further improved. The Tamron 18-200mm VC is the main competitor. A practical budget travel zoom for APS-C DSLRs. Check for smooth zoom and OS operation.
