Sigma's mirrorless 24mm Art — the DG DN version redesigned for Sony E-mount with improved AF.
The Sigma 24mm f/1.4 DG DN Art was released in 2022 as a native mirrorless redesign of Sigma's acclaimed 24mm f/1.4 Art. Built from the ground up for Sony E-mount, it is significantly lighter and more compact than the DSLR version while maintaining the exceptional optical quality. Linear motor AF provides faster, quieter focusing than the original's HSM motor.
Optical performance is outstanding — matching or exceeding the already excellent DSLR version. Sharpness is exceptional from f/1.4 across the frame. Coma control is excellent for astrophotography. The Art line optical design delivers class-leading aberration correction. A rear filter holder allows use of gelatine filters for light pollution and creative effects.
Sony E mount with full electronic communication. Filter thread is 72mm — smaller than the DSLR version's 77mm. Weight is approximately 520 grams — significantly lighter than the 665g DSLR version. Build quality is excellent with TSC construction. No weather sealing. The aperture ring has a de-click switch for video work.
Growing availability on the used market. Check AF operation and smooth aperture ring. The rear filter holder is valuable for astrophotographers. A significant improvement over the DSLR version in size, weight, and AF performance while maintaining the same reference-class optics. The benchmark 24mm f/1.4 for Sony shooters.
