Sigma's earlier 24mm f/1.8 wide prime — pre-Art with EX build for DSLR mounts.
The Sigma 24mm f/1.8 EX DG is an earlier wide-angle prime predating the Art lineup, providing 24mm at f/1.8 for full-frame DSLRs. It offered fast wide-angle capability at a budget price with EX professional build quality.
Optically adequate — sharp from f/4 with the f/1.8 providing fast wide-angle light gathering. EX designation with quality construction. The pre-Art era means less refined optics than modern alternatives but functional at the price.
Available for Canon EF and Nikon F mounts. 77mm filter thread. Approximately 485g. No weather sealing. Full-frame coverage. No stabilisation. EX build quality. Minimum focus distance approximately 18cm — impressive.
Available used very cheaply. The Sigma 24mm f/1.4 DG HSM Art replaced it with dramatically superior optics. This earlier version is only worth considering at bargain prices. The 18cm close focus is impressive for 24mm.
