Sigma's earlier 24mm f/1.8 wide prime — pre-Art with EX build for DSLR mounts.

The Sigma 24mm f/1.8 EX DG is a wide-angle prime for full-frame cameras from Sigma's EX (Excellence) pre-Art era. The DG designation confirms full-frame coverage; f/1.8 provides fast wide-angle performance for astrophotography and available-light work. Canon EF mount.

f/1.8 maximum aperture. 24mm focal length. DG (full-frame coverage). EX (pre-Art premium tier). Aspherical elements. At approximately 540g. 77mm filter thread. Canon EF mount.

The EX designation predates Sigma's Global Vision Art/Contemporary naming. As an f/1.8 design at 24mm, the lens provides more light gathering than standard f/2.8 ultra-wide alternatives, useful for astro-landscape and indoor architectural work in low light. Wide-open performance is softer than the subsequent Art-line 24mm designs.

On the used market the Sigma 24mm f/1.8 EX DG Canon EF is an affordable older full-frame ultra-wide prime. Condition checks: AF motor response, 77mm front element for marks, aperture blade smoothness at f/1.8. Compatible with Canon RF via EF-RF adapter.
