Sigma's ultra-compact wide prime — 24mm f/3.5 I-Series with premium build for Sony FE and L-Mount.
The Sigma 24mm f/3.5 DG DN Contemporary launched in 2020 as the widest prime in Sigma's compact I-Series. At just 225g, it provides 24mm in near-pancake dimensions with premium I-Series metal construction.
Optically good — sharp from f/5.6 with the extreme compactness prioritised over maximum aperture speed. The f/3.5 is slow for a 24mm prime but the tiny size compensates. I-Series metal barrel with premium fit and finish.
Available for Sony FE and L-Mount. 55mm filter thread. Just 225g — incredibly compact for full-frame 24mm. Dust and splash resistant. I-Series premium metal construction. Minimum focus distance 10.8cm — exceptional.
Available used at budget to mid-range prices. The 10.8cm close focus is remarkable — approaching macro territory. The f/3.5 limits low-light use. For photographers prioritising absolute minimum size at 24mm on full-frame.
