The Sirui 35mm f/1.8 1.33x Anamorphic is a cinema-oriented prime for Micro Four Thirds cameras that produces genuine anamorphic widescreen images. Unlike conventional widescreen crops, anamorphic lenses squeeze a wider field of view onto the sensor, providing the distinctive horizontal lens flares, oval bokeh, and cinematic look associated with Hollywood productions.

The 1.33x anamorphic squeeze combined with the MFT 2x crop factor creates an effective widescreen ratio. The f/1.8 aperture provides good low-light capability. The anamorphic characteristics — horizontal flares, oval bokeh, and distinctive rendering — are the creative selling points. Sharpness is good in the centre with some softening at the edges typical of anamorphic designs.
