Anamorphic prime lens designed for video production with a 75mm focal length.
The Sirui 75mm 1.33× Anamorphic lens is an anamorphic prime for Sony E APS-C cameras from Sirui's anamorphic lens series. Anamorphic lenses optically compress the captured image horizontally; desqueezing in post-production produces a wider widescreen aspect ratio (2.39:1 from 16:9) with the characteristic anamorphic oval bokeh and lens flares.
75mm focal length, 1.33× anamorphic squeeze, f/1.8 maximum aperture, Sony E APS-C coverage, manual focus, 67mm filter thread.
The Sirui 75mm anamorphic provides a portrait telephoto perspective (approximately 112mm equivalent on APS-C) with the aesthetic qualities of anamorphic cinematography — oval bokeh, horizontal lens flares, and the widescreen image format after desqueeze. The 1.33× squeeze factor is less extreme than the traditional 2× anamorphic squeeze, making it more practical on smaller sensors.
Test the anamorphic squeeze and confirm correct desqueeze settings in NLE software (1.33× for this lens). Check for any anamorphic focus breathing. Inspect elements for haze or coating condition. Confirm Sony E mount engagement. Test aperture blades.
