Sony's basic A-mount DSLR — the A200 entry-level with SteadyShot.
The Sony A200 is an entry-level APS-C DSLR from 2008 with a 10.2MP CCD sensor and SteadyShot INSIDE body stabilisation. One of the most basic Sony A-mount cameras. The SteadyShot stabilisation works with any A-mount lens — the key practical advantage. Simple, affordable, and functional for basic film-to-digital transition photography.
Image quality from the 10.2MP CCD is adequate for basic use with pleasant CCD colour rendition. SteadyShot stabilises any A-mount lens. 9-point AF. No video. Optical viewfinder. The A200 was Sony's most affordable DSLR — providing the minimum A-mount experience at minimum cost. CompactFlash and Memory Stick storage.
Sony A mount. Weight approximately 532 grams. Build quality basic consumer. SteadyShot INSIDE is the key feature — stabilising all A-mount lenses including vintage Minolta manual focus glass. The A-mount system is discontinued. The CCD colour character is pleasant for the era.
Very cheap. Check sensor and shutter. Thoroughly outdated. The SteadyShot with any lens is the sole notable feature. Only at extremely low prices. Modern entry mirrorless is dramatically superior. Only for A-mount lens testing or as a very basic film-to-digital body.
