Sony's budget APS-C SLT camera — 24.2MP with translucent mirror, 8fps burst, and in-body stabilisation.
The Sony A68 (SLT-A68) launched in 2015 as a mid-range APS-C camera using Sony's Translucent Mirror Technology. It offered 24.2MP with 79-point phase-detect AF and 8fps burst at an accessible price point for A-mount users.
The 24.2MP APS-C sensor delivers good image quality. The SLT mirror enables continuous phase-detect AF during both stills and video. 79-point AF system with 15 cross-type sensors — a significant improvement over older SLT models. 8fps burst. Full HD 1080p video.
A-mount lens system. 2.36M-dot OLED EVF. 2.7-inch tilting LCD — not touch. In-body SteadyShot. Built-in flash. 675g. WiFi and NFC. Single SD card slot.
Available used very cheaply. A-mount is discontinued — severely limits the camera's future. The SLT concept has been abandoned. Any modern mirrorless is significantly better. Only useful for existing A-mount lens owners who want a cheap body. Check for EVF condition.
