The Sony FE 35mm f/1.8 (SEL35F18F) was released in 2019 as a lightweight full-frame standard prime for Sony FE-mount. Eleven elements in 9 groups. Linear motor autofocus. No OSS optical stabilisation — the full-frame FE version omits OSS (the APS-C SEL35F18 is a different lens with OSS). At 280g and 55mm filter thread. Nine rounded aperture blades. 0.22m MFD.

The absence of OSS distinguishes the FE 35mm f/1.8 from the APS-C Sony E 35mm f/1.8 (SEL35F18), which has OSS. For full-frame use, OSS adds bulk and weight — the FE version assumes camera IBIS (available on A7-series bodies from A7 II onward) will provide stabilisation. The 280g weight makes it one of the lightest full-frame 35mm f/1.8 options for Sony FE.

On the used market the Sony FE 35mm f/1.8 is affordable as a compact full-frame standard prime. Condition checks: linear AF response, 55mm front element for marks. No OSS. Compatible with all Sony FE-mount full-frame bodies; usable on APS-C E-mount with crop factor.
