Sony's ultra-compact APS-C mirrorless — 16.2MP NEX in one of the smallest ILC bodies ever.
The Sony NEX-C3 was released approximately 2011 as one of the smallest APS-C mirrorless cameras, featuring a 16.2MP sensor in an ultra-compact body. Part of Sony's early NEX lineup targeting consumers transitioning from compact cameras. Sony E mount.
16.2MP APS-C CMOS sensor. Tilting 3-inch LCD. 5.5fps continuous. 1080p/25fps video. Built-in flash. At approximately 193g body only. No EVF. Sony E mount.
The NEX-C3's ultra-compact profile was a key selling point — combining APS-C sensor quality with near-compact-camera dimensions. The tilting LCD enables above-head compositing. As an early generation NEX, video specifications and AF speed are limited by current standards. Later rebadged in the Alpha A5000 series.
On the used market the Sony NEX-C3 is a vintage ultra-compact APS-C mirrorless. Condition checks: tilting LCD hinge, Sony E mount contacts, sensor for dust, battery health (NP-FW50).
