Sony's ultra-compact APS-C mirrorless — 16.2MP NEX in one of the smallest ILC bodies ever.
The Sony NEX-C3 launched in 2011 as an ultra-compact APS-C mirrorless camera — one of the smallest interchangeable-lens cameras available. It used a 16.2MP sensor in a pared-back body targeting upgraders from compact cameras.
The 16.2MP APS-C sensor delivers good results. 25-point contrast-detect AF. Full HD 1080i video. The minimal body design makes it barely larger than a large compact camera with the right lens. Simple menu system for beginners.
Ultra-compact at 225g. 3-inch tilting LCD — no EVF. No hot shoe. Built-in flash. Sony E mount. Single SD card slot. WiFi not included. The smallest NEX body of its era.
Available used for almost nothing. The A6000 is dramatically better and very cheap used. The NEX-C3 was a stepping stone from compacts to mirrorless. Only for absolute budget APS-C E-mount needs. Check for smooth operation.
