Sony's ultra-compact vlogging camera with 1-inch sensor, fixed 20mm equiv f/2 lens, and flip screen.
The Sony ZV-1F was released in 2022 as a fixed-lens vlog camera featuring a 20mm equivalent f/2 ultra-wide lens on a 20.1MP 1-inch Exmor RS stacked CMOS sensor. The 20mm wide-angle perspective captures the vlogger's face and background environment in the same frame. 4K/30fps video. No optical stabilisation — the ZV-1F provides digital Active SteadyShot only (with associated image crop). NP-BX1 battery. At 256g with battery and card.
The 20.1MP 1-inch Exmor RS stacked CMOS sensor. Fixed 20mm equivalent f/2 lens (approximately 94° field of view). 4K/30fps and 4K/24fps video. 1080p up to 120fps. No optical stabilisation — digital Active SteadyShot applies a 1.23x crop in video mode. NP-BX1 battery. Body weight approximately 256g with battery and card. USB-C charging.
The 20mm equivalent ultra-wide perspective is the ZV-1F's defining characteristic for vlogging: at arm's length or on a short gimbal, the 20mm field of view captures face and substantial background context in the same frame — the standard vlog framing that 28mm or 35mm lenses cannot achieve at arm's length. The digital-only stabilisation tradeoff is significant for handheld video: the 1.23x crop narrows the 20mm field, and rolling shutter is present without the correction that optical SteadyShot provides.
On the used market the Sony ZV-1F is affordable as a fixed-lens vlog-oriented compact. Condition checks: 20mm lens element for marks, NP-BX1 battery health (shared with RX100 series, RX1R II, HX99), and touchscreen for scratches. No optical stabilisation. Fixed 20mm f/2 lens; no interchangeable mount.
