Tamron's updated APS-C ultra-wide with VC — 15-36mm equiv at f/3.5-4.5 with stabilisation and HLD motor.
The Tamron 10-24mm f/3.5-4.5 Di II VC HLD launched in 2017 as an update to Tamron's popular APS-C ultra-wide zoom, adding VC stabilisation and the HLD (High/Low torque-modulated Drive) AF motor for faster, quieter focus.
Optically good — sharp with VC providing approximately 4 stops — unusual for an ultra-wide and genuinely useful. HLD motor for faster AF than the older version. The 15-36mm equivalent covers a useful ultra-wide to moderate wide range.
Available for Canon EF-S and Nikon F mounts. 77mm filter thread — accepts standard filters. Approximately 440g. Moisture-resistant construction. VC stabilisation. HLD motor. 24cm minimum focus distance.
Available used at mid-range prices. The VC at ultra-wide is a genuine advantage — most competitors lack it. The 77mm filter thread is practical for landscape ND use. The Sigma 10-20mm f/3.5 is wider. For APS-C landscape shooters wanting stabilised ultra-wide with filters.
