Tamron's earlier APS-C superzoom — 27-405mm equiv with VC, predecessor to the PZD version.
The Tamron 18-270mm f/3.5-6.3 Di II VC LD AF Aspherical (IF) Macro is an earlier version of Tamron's popular APS-C superzoom — the predecessor to the PZD version (ID 1738). It added VC stabilisation to the 15x zoom concept.
Optically acceptable — VC provides approximately 4 stops. LD and aspherical elements control aberrations. The 27-405mm equivalent range covers standard through super-telephoto. Macro mode for close-up versatility. AF motor varies by mount.
Available for Canon EF-S and Nikon F mounts. 62mm filter thread. Approximately 550g. VC stabilisation. APS-C coverage. Di II designation. Macro capability.
Available used very cheaply. The PZD version (ID 1738) improved the AF motor. The 18-300mm Di III for mirrorless is the modern evolution. A practical budget travel zoom. Check for smooth zoom and VC operation.
