The Tamron 50-400mm f/4.5-6.3 Di III VC VXD (Model A067) was released approximately 2022 as a full-frame telephoto zoom for Sony FE bodies, covering 50-400mm with VC optical stabilisation and VXD (Voice-coil eXtreme-torque Drive) linear motor AF. At 1,155g and 67mm filter thread. Twenty-four elements in 18 groups. Nine aperture blades. 0.25m MFD at 50mm.

Minimum focus distance of 0.25m at 50mm. VC optical stabilisation. VXD linear motor for fast, quiet AF. Variable aperture from f/4.5 at 50mm to f/6.3 at 400mm.

The 50-400mm range provides an unusual starting point for a full-frame telephoto zoom: at 50mm the lens covers standard perspective while extending to 400mm super-telephoto. The 0.25m MFD at 50mm enables close-range subject framing at near-macro distances when full telephoto reach is not needed. The VXD motor's fast tracking supports sports and wildlife at the 400mm end.
