Tamron's classic Adaptall-2 telephoto — interchangeable mount system with 80-210mm zoom.
The Tamron Adaptall-2 80-210mm f/3.8-4 is a telephoto zoom from Tamron's legendary Adaptall interchangeable-mount system. Adaptall lenses use a universal bayonet that accepts mount adapters for virtually every SLR system — one lens, many cameras.
Optically acceptable for its era — typical of consumer telephoto zooms of the 1980s. The variable f/3.8-4 aperture is moderate. Manual focus. The Adaptall-2 system was Tamron's second-generation interchangeable mount — more refined than Adaptall-1.
Adaptall-2 universal mount — accepts adapters for Nikon F, Canon FD, Pentax K, Olympus OM, Minolta MD, and more. Manual focus and aperture. Metal construction. Typical of quality consumer optics of the era.
Available used very cheaply. The Adaptall concept was brilliant — one lens for multiple systems. Adaptall mount adapters are increasingly hard to find. For vintage lens collectors and those who appreciate the interchangeable-mount concept.
