Tamron's premium DSLR 35mm prime with outstanding optics rivalling Sigma Art.
The Tamron SP 35mm f/1.4 Di USD launched in 2019 as Tamron's ultimate 35mm prime for full-frame DSLRs. With optical quality that rival reviewers declared equal to or better than the Sigma 35mm f/1.4 Art, it represented Tamron's highest-ever achievement in prime lens design.
Optical quality is exceptional with outstanding sharpness from wide open, minimal aberrations, and beautiful bokeh. USD motor is fast and quiet. Build is weather sealed SP-grade with moisture-resistant construction. The 30cm minimum focus distance is unusually close for a 35mm.
Available in Canon EF and Nikon F mounts. Filter thread is 72mm. This was Tamron's DSLR swan song — their finest prime lens, released as the industry shifted to mirrorless. No mirrorless version exists.
Good value used. Check USD motor and weather seals. The lens is an optical masterpiece that flew under the radar due to its late-DSLR-era release. For Canon and Nikon DSLR shooters this is arguably the finest 35mm available.
