The Tokina RMC 35-200mm f/3.5-4.5 was a manual focus wide-range zoom from Tokina's RMC series, sold during the late 1970s and 1980s as an early all-in-one lens option for 35mm SLR photographers wanting to avoid carrying multiple primes.
It uses a one-touch zoom-and-focus barrel with a manual click-stop aperture ring and RMC-era multi-coating. Maximum aperture runs from f/3.5 at 35mm to f/4.5 at 200mm, a relatively fast range for a superzoom of its generation, at the cost of a larger, heavier barrel.
Optical performance is reasonable in the wide-to-mid range but softens toward 200mm wide open, with vignetting visible at the widest setting. Its faster aperture than later SZ-X equivalents makes it more usable in dimmer conditions despite the extra bulk.
