Topcon's later UV-mount consumer SLR — the IC-1, TTL metered, 1972.
The Topcon IC-1 was a 35mm film SLR made from 1972 as a later consumer body in Topcon's UV-mount line. It continued the range that began with the Uni, using the Topcon UV bayonet, and reflected Topcon's efforts to keep a foothold in the affordable SLR market before it withdrew from consumer cameras.
It is a single-lens-reflex camera for 35mm film on the Topcon UV mount. The IC-1 used TTL metering and a focal-plane shutter, operated in metered manual. It is a comparatively simple body within the UV line, following the conventional SLR layout of the early 1970s.
It suits users interested in the Topcon UV system who want a simpler, more affordable body than the metered RE cameras. Handling is basic and direct, making it usable for general and travel photography where its lens range allows.
On the used market the IC-1 is uncommon and Topcon UV lenses are hard to find. Check the foam seals and mirror-damper foam, confirm the shutter fires at all speeds, and test the meter with an appropriate battery. Inspect the finder, advance and rewind, and be aware that repair and parts support for Topcon's consumer bodies are very limited.
