TTArtisan — manual 17mm f/1.4 fast wide-angle prime for APS-C mirrorless mounts

TTArtisan built its early reputation on compact, all-metal manual primes for APS-C mirrorless systems, and the 17mm f/1.4 is one of several fast wide-angle options released alongside its 23mm and 35mm siblings, aimed at buyers wanting bright wide glass without first-party cost.

It uses 9 elements in 8 groups with an aspherical element, focusing manually to 0.2m. It accepts 40.5mm filters, weighs around 248g, and stops down through 8 aperture blades to f/16. Angle of view is approximately 81 degrees on APS-C, roughly a 25-26mm equivalent field of view.

Wide open at f/1.4 the lens shows the softness and vignetting typical of budget fast wide-angles, sharpening by f/2.8-f/4 into a capable landscape and street option. Manual focus with a clicked aperture ring suits deliberate shooting rather than fast-moving subjects.
