Voigtlander — Super Dynarex 135mm f/4 telephoto for Bessamatic-series Deckel-mount SLRs

The Voigtlander Super Dynarex 135mm f/4 is a telephoto lens made by the original German Voigtlander company for its Bessamatic and Ultramatic leaf-shutter SLR cameras, produced through the 1960s as part of a full lens system built around the Deckel bayonet mount.

The lens uses Voigtlander's Super Dynarex formula, a telephoto intended to pair with the Bessamatic and Ultramatic's fixed in-body leaf shutter, so it carries no shutter or aperture-coupling mechanism beyond a manual diaphragm ring. It mounts via the Deckel (DKL) bayonet shared with the Kodak Retina Reflex and Zeiss Ikon Contaflex.

Rendering is characteristic of 1960s German telephoto glass, with solid central sharpness and gentle, well-controlled contrast rather than the more clinical look of later coatings. Its DKL mount, unique to a handful of period cameras, limits practical use today mostly to Bessamatic and Ultramatic bodies.

Because the DKL mount was never adapted for modern mirrorless use, demand and prices stay modest outside dedicated Voigtlander collectors. Buyers should confirm the aperture ring moves freely and check the Deckel bayonet lugs for wear, a known issue on this system.
