The Voigtlander 28mm f/2 Aspherical MK II VM is the updated version of Voigtlander's fast 28mm for Leica M mount described under ID 3448. The MK II improves digital M sensor compatibility with updated optics for reduced colour shift and improved corner performance. The f/2 speed at 28mm provides excellent low-light and DOF capability.

Optical performance is improved over the MK I. Sharpness is very good from f/2. The aspherical element controls aberrations well. The MK II specifically addresses digital sensor compatibility — the main weakness of earlier versions on digital M bodies. Colour rendering is neutral. Distortion is minimal for 28mm. Bokeh is smooth.

Leica M mount with rangefinder coupling. Filter thread is 46mm. Weight is approximately 230 grams — compact. Build quality is outstanding Cosina precision. The MK II update improves on the MK I specifically for digital M use. Zone focusing at 28mm f/5.6 is practical for street photography.
