Voigtlander's compact AF prime for Fujifilm X — 41mm equiv at f/2 with electronic contacts and metal build.
The Voigtlander Ultron 27mm f/2 is a compact autofocus prime for Fujifilm X-mount, providing 41mm equivalent. Unusually for Voigtlander, it features full electronic communication and autofocus — a departure from the brand's manual-focus heritage.
Optically very good — sharp from f/2.8 with pleasant rendering at f/2. The Ultron optical formula provides excellent contrast and colour rendition. Autofocus is stepping motor based — quiet and adequately fast. Full EXIF data communication including aperture control.
Fujifilm X mount with 43mm filter thread — very compact. Weighs approximately 120g — near-pancake dimensions. Metal construction. Minimum focus distance 25cm. Aperture ring with half-stop clicks. Electronic contacts for AF and EXIF — unusual for Voigtlander.
Available used at mid-range prices. The compact size is the standout feature — this barely protrudes from the camera body. The Fuji XF 27mm f/2.8 WR is the direct competitor. Voigtlander's optical quality and metal build give it a premium feel despite the compact dimensions.
